We finished the negotiations for the next Rosa releases and both are firsts for us; a bluegrass-cd and a cd sung in Dutch. The .357 String Band hails from Milwaukee and produces bluegrass with an attitude, Bill Monroe with a lot of tattoos really. That's why they call it streetgrass. Their debut is titled Ghost Town. Faithful to the bluegrass-tradition? Sure. Revolutionary? That too. Is is possible? Not really but the .357 String Band pull it off. Also a first for us is a cd, completely sung in Dutch. Responsible for that is Jaap Boots, who most of you will know as a a program maker for VPRO radio. He has made a divorce record that will make you mad and bring tears to your eyes at the same time. It's titled Afkuil. The release party is on Sunday May 20 at 16.00 hrs in Desmet Studio, Plantage Middenlaan 4A in Amsterdam. To celebrate this release we ask all you Rosa-followers and other readers of this newsletter to submit your own divorce stories, divorce papers and pictures of happier times, so we can make a Divorce Hall Of Fame on the site of Jaap and Rosa.
